The Egyptian people today are writing their history.

People from all over the world are captivated by the Egyptian people’s determination to take the path to change.

The citizens of Egypt are going through a moment of liberation and Egypt today has taken a major step towards democracy.

It is a time for national reconciliation, in a spirit of peace and consensus for the future of the country;

One characterized by open procedures, representative dialogue and a commitment to a higher purpose;

In the interest of building a strong and viable democratic system;

With respect for universal rights.

The goal must be to create a new, strong and steady Egypt, one which sets a standard for the rest of the region, and throughout the Arab and Muslim world.

The decision of Hosni Mubarak has opened the way for the democratization of Egypt.

This procedure will be difficult and painful.

It must proceed with respect to the struggles and expectations of the Egyptian people, especially the youth who take the lead and dream of a different country.

The path to free and fair elections should be a peaceful one.

Egypt is being reborn and in these critical hours, it needs responsible leaders who will fight for the common good.

Greece will stand beside the Egyptian people, as they make their way towards democracy.

Egypt is a friend and a neighbor, one with whom Greece has historic ties.

We stand ready to contribute to the democratic transition that has just begun.
